2014 NFL Team Needs: Minnesota Vikings

1. Quarterback: Matt Cassel preformed surprisingly well to close out the season, but we all know he isn't a long term solution as a starter. It would be very surprising to see the Vikings go anywhere but quarterback with their 8th overall selection.

2. Defensive End: The Vikings will likely part ways with Jared Allen after a great career with the team. Finding his replacement will be a top priority in Minnesota.

3. Cornerback: Xavier Rhodes showed a lot of promise in his rookie season, and can be trusted as the #1 corner going forward. However, the position is a mess behind him. A couple upgrades could be found at corner this off season.

4. Safety: Harrison Smith struggled with injuries all season, but he's a top safety when healthy. He needs a long term partner in the secondary, however.

5. Defensive Tackle: Kevin Williams is another long time Vikings defender who will likely find a new home this off season. Minnesota will need to find a replacement to pair with Floyd.

6. Guard: Johnson is a free agent who probably shouldn't be brought back. A solid guard needs to be found to replace him.

7. Linebacker: The Vikings have a very underwhelming group of linebackers. Some veteran competition should be brought in here.

8. Wide Receiver: Jennings and Patterson are slotted to start next season, but Simpson is a free agent who should be upgraded anyways. You can never have too many weapons for a young quarterback.

9. Running Back: Gerhart is a solid backup, so a replacement will be needed if he isn't retained.
